A Taste of Spring?

Gosh, yesterday was such a beautiful sunny day...it was almost like spring! I have noticed some of my daylilies starting to peek out of the ground. Dallen played Jr. Jazz Basketball this winter, and got a free ticket to the Jazzgame last night. Mom and Dad got tickets so they could go with him. I am sure they had a terrific time! I do know that the Jazz won...and it was a special game. Larry H. Miller, the owner of the Jazz passed away a few days ago, and his wife was given the game ball. I know Kim will tell us about that special night when they get home. Mandi tended the girls, and we all went out in the hills to look for pretty rocks, get some excercise & fresh air, and roast a hot dog. It was so nice to be outdoors! The breeze was a bit cool, so we needed our jackets (at least I did!), but it was wonderful. Sisi left a trail with her walking stick for Saige to follow, so she wouldn't get lost. Rylie dug a long trench in the sand, and they buried the left-over Christmas tree branches from the back of Pappo's truck. They even poured a bottle of water over them so they would grow! All of the girls helped Pappo build the fire, so we could roast a hot dog. Pretty rocks were everywhere, and they all came home with pant pockets and jacket pockets full of them! All but Sierra fell asleep in the truck on the way home! Guess it was a great day!

New Years!

Well, the Milletts' came to visit us after New Years. Patti, Sid, and most of their family came to see us too. We had fun with the Wii. Tami and Linsey were the best ski jumpers, Baylee did pretty good walking the tightrope, but Buddy ended up with the best balance! Sid found out that his Wii age is 74!!Ha! As you can tell...we think that there is nothing better than spending time with those we love!

Better Late than Never!

I just had to empty my memory card from my camera...and there was Christmas & New Years pictures! Gosh, I had the tree cutting, & family party, but not Christmas or New Years posting. Anyway, we got to have all of our kids and grandkids here at some time during the holidays. The Statons', Sauls', and Sorbes' came for Christmas day and dinner. We got 'Meemard beanies' for our 'Meemards'. When we got them in at my work...I knew I just had to get them! They look very special...don't you think? Mike hooked up the Wii for us, and we all took turns, after gifts were opened, and dinner was over. The girls really enjoyed the chocolate pie! YUMMY! Jentry & Sisi loved playing tennis, and Rylie likes soccer. Even Saige dressed up in her favorite dress-up outfit to play the Wii!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, we had a fun week! On Friday the 6th, we joined the bishopric in going to the St. George Temple and then having dinner before heading home. Saturday, we went to Kim & Jeff's for a yummy dinner of Navajo tacos. Kim's are so delicious...I always eat way too much. And of course I can't resist a scone with honey butter! She also made a $100.00 cake (my favorite) for my birthday. Buddy & Tammi's family came, and brought Jessie with them. Mandi & girls came after she got off of work. So, Kim had a full house with us and all of our kids. (Jake & Mike didn't make it) It was a fun evening. I took Monday off work to be lazy and have a nap, but Mandi wanted me to go to St. George with her and the girls. I probably would have felt guilty, and ended up cleaning house if I'd stayed home anyway! We got into the worst blizzard ever...on our way down there! We couldn't see 10 feet ahead of us. She is a good driver, and the farther we went, the more the snow let up. So, we kept on going instead of turning around and returning home. She bought us lunch at Fazoli's, and we did some shopping before heading home. On Valentine's day, Lloyd & I decided to go to dinner somewhere. We called Buddy, and ended up going to Cedar City to go to dinner with them and their kids. We had steak at Appleby's & hit Walmart for a couple of things. Then we stopped by Mom's and took her a box of candy. Gary and boys were there, and we had a nice visit with them all. We had a quick stop at Jessie & Mike's before heading home. She had baked some excellent Valentine cookies, and gave us a few. YUM! We got dad a box of Valentine chocolate cherries (his favorite)for his valentine. Anyway, it was a fun week. Hope you all had a happy Valentines Day with some of those you hold dearest in your heart!

Hope your Holidays were HAPPY!

Mom, Lloyd & I, Gary & Michelle, Sid and Patti (Gosh we're getting old!); Mom, grandkids & great-grandkids; new beannies!

Gosh, I am still trying to get the hang of 'blogging'! I have to call one of the girls and holler help every now and then...but I think I am getting there. I hope you all had a very happy Christmas and holiday season, we sure did. All but Buddy & Tami's family came for dinner on Christmas day. Then, they came over for the day after New Years. We got to see all the kids & grandkids, my parents, and sisters sometime during the holiday, so we were happy. Every year, my sisters, mom, I and all of our families have a Christmas party. We started it when Kim was about 8 years old, and we choose a different country to learn about. We find out how they celebrate Christmas, make a craft or do something of their tradition, and cook their recipes for dinner. Some have been very fun and good...others were really different! This year was at Chelle's, and they chose Romania. It was pretty good, even the food wasn't bad. We FINALLY got a white Christmas! I have been wishing and dreaming of that for quite a few years now. We used to have them alot, but the past 5 years or so have been mostly dry. Anyway, I sewed about 17 beanies for all the kids and younger adults, and took them to the party. It was a fun project! Santa brought us a Wii for Christmas, and we had lots of fun with that. I got a 'wii fit' with it, so I have been trying to find some time to work off those extra pounds I acquired!! Dad, Lloyd and I bowled so much the first couple of days...that our arms were sore. I have found that the grandkids are much better at it than I am. Even the 4 year olds can beat me at tennis! I need to practice alot more! Dad got a Nintendo game Cube, and is getting really good at billiards. Well,I hope your holidays were great, and the New Year is a prosperous one!!
