Grandkids at Grammies -Christmas Break 2009

We brought our 8 grandkids home with us from 'Whoville'on Dec. 19th, and kept them until the 22nd. We played some fun Christmas games and everyone got a gift. Luke was not happy at all with his 'princess' puzzle, but Jentry traded him for a coloring book at the end of the game. We watched a couple of movies...but they were more interested in playing with their cousins. The kids who are in school performed numbers from their school Christmas programs. Rylie sang, Baylee & Beau sang, Beau recited an adorable poem, and Jentry sang a song as she signed along with the words. They are so awesome! Patti came out with her 2 granddaughters on Sunday and spent the night with us. We made borax crystal ornaments, and they turned out really cool. We made and decorated Christmas cookies, and each child (10) took home a plate of cookies to eat...and to leave out a few for Santa. I don't know if Santa got any...because they were so good! I loved having them here. I always make pajamas for all of the grandkids, and this year I found them cheaper at Osh'Kosh than I could make them. Since all the kids were here on the 22nd, I let them open their Christmas p.j.s' and took a few pictures. They danced and played, and all got along soooo good...it was a real treat to have them here! Thanks kids for making Grammie & Pappo's Christmas brighter!

Merry Grinchmas 2009!

We had our annual Grinchmas Party at the Whoville home of Patti & Sid this year. We all arrived with our 'Who' hairdos', food, and gifts for the kids. We feasted on 2 kinds of Roast Beast, Who Hash, Who Pudding, Who rolls, Veggies & dips, Mt. Krumpet Creamed Corn, and a lovely 'Who' cake made and decorated by Cammie Who. We visited, and made ornaments with our 'Who' pictures on them. Thanks Patti for all your hard work! Mr. Grinch arrived bringing Grinchmas goodies for the kids...but not one little "Whoville' child would sit on his lap, except for our tiniest little 'Who", Gianni. A great time was had by all! Hope you had a very merry Grinchmas!

Thanksgiving 2009-Montezuma's Ride

We had most of the kids here for Thanksgiving dinner, on the Friday after. We stuffed ourselves with turkey, dressing, garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, and all the trimmings. Of course, there was lots of pumpkin and apple pie to top it all off. We decided to go on a 4 wheeler ride east of here. We went to a place near here called Montezuma's Caves. In the 1940's or so...someone discovered clues to the famous Montezuma's lost treasure, and decided that it was here. Most of the men and boys of Kanab, and around abouts, went digging and tunneling through the limestone mountain to find the treasure. They set up a tent town out there, and Kanab was governed (for 3 or so years) by a totally female city government. The treasure was never found, but that mountain has a honeycomb of tunnels where they searched. It is interesting to see, and we have been there a few times before. I don't like caves, so I was a 'party pooper' and waited for everyone to go explore. Mandi was working so we had Ry and Saige too. After the tunnel tour, we stopped to have a picnic...and it snowed on us! It was very cold. The thunder was rolling too, as it was snowing. Strange but fun!

Dad's 82nd Birthday in Kanab October 2009

We all got together for dad's 82nd birthday here at our house/ Patti's, Chelle's and our kids and families all came, except Aarica, Mike & Jessie, and Jake. We cooked dutch-oven dinner, and Kim brought the home-made rolls. Patti brought b.day cake, two kinds...sourdough chocolate, and applesauce. We dutch ovened potatoes, and had 2 dovens of BBQ Chicken breasts, and salad. We ate too much, visited alot, and took pictures. It was a great day!

Davis Re-union Sept. 2009

We had our Davis Re-union in Toquerville again this year. It was a 1 day event, and enjoyed by all. Mom didn't want to go, but we drug Dad along with us. We all enjoyed the visiting and food, but not the heat! We used to do a Labor Day camping re-union, but as some have gotten older with health issues, they have gone to a day visit. I think we will push for October or November next year...as it is still very hot in Dixie in September...100+!

Elk Hunt 2009

Gosh...I can't believe how long it has been since I have been on here. Life seems to get more hectic every day! We only got a few camping trips in this summer, fall came and went, and now it is 2010! I am going to put this post on anyway, as I got some pretty pics of the kids while we were elk hunting up by Panguitch. Lloyd and Jeff and Buddy all had spike tags, and Mandi had a different area hunt...but they all got skunked. We pulled the trailers up near Horse Creek. Kim, kids and I went up on the week-ends. I have always loved the autumn leaves for a photo session background, and the Saul kids were good sports. Mandi only rode up one day, and she was hunting the other side of Hwy. 14...just gave me a ride to camp. Didn't get any of her little ones. Check out Tami's blog for some great pics she took of her kids! Mice got in our trailer, so we didn't camp the last week-end! Yuck!

July 24th was our Jolley family reunion in Tropic. It poured down rain for about an hour, but cleared up and was a beautiful day.

Our annual Jolley reunion was held at Tropic again this year. The morning was spent at the town park for fun and games. At noon, we went to the Cannonville park for lunch and family visiting and games. We had a giant Red-Rover game, face-painting, a candy cannon for the kids, and other fun for the kids. This is the only time we get to see most of this side of our family. We had a good time visiting and catching up. Each family wore a different color shirts, and we did get some good pics of our immediate family, and the other Milletts' there too. All of our kids were there except Jessie & Mike...the dead beats! Jake & Mandi left before the picture of us and Rons'.
