Happy Birthday Baylee & Beau!!!

This past week-end...we took Mandi's girls with us and went to Parowan for an over night visit with the Milletts'. Beau & Baylee both have March b.days...so they had a family party for both of them. It was much too short of a trip, but we enjoyed being with all of our kids & families(minus Mandi & Jake), and the Cleveland family. Baylee & Rylie got 3-leaf clover hairdos, all the kids got to ride the horses, and of course we had way too much food. Tami made her grandma's homemade sloppy joes and a huge potato salad. Bud decided that wasn't enough and he made a huge macaroni salad! We all ate too much of the delicious food...and topped it off with chocolate birthday cake and ice cream! I think that they may still be eating salads and sloppy joes!!! I'll add a few pics of the kids riding the horses later. (Of course my camera batteries were dead, so Kim took pics and will send me some to post!) Happy St. Paddy's day to you all!

Sleepless in Kanab!

Just had to share this experience! Jessie came to visit this week-end, as Mike and his sis(who lives in Phoenix area)were going to help their mom. She dropped him off, and came on over here about 8:30 pm. Well, at 10:30, he calls and says he is coming to get their car and go get his sister. She had been driving up, and her car had broken down on the Navajo Reservation between Flagstaff and Page (turned out to be about 155 miles from here). Now, Mike is really bothered by the 'skin-walkers' and 'shape shifters' of Indian lore...and was in a dither to go rescue Anne. When Lloyd found out his plan ... he, Jessie, and Mandi thought that a better plan was for Lloyd & Mike to go in our truck w/trailer, so they could bring her car home, instead of leaving it on the Res.. Well, our trailer was really 'squirrely' with the car on it, and they couldn't travel faster than 40-45 mph. When they got to Page, about 3 a.m., Anne called a friend to bring his heavier trailer to haul her car the rest of the way. Jessie finally got ahold of them on the cell phone about 3:30 am, and found out the new plan, she had one of her 'feelings', and told them to wait for him, and drive on together. Jessie & I had been up all night worrying and playing the Wii. After the phone call...we decided they would be okay traveling together, and went to bed about 4:15 am. Well, Lloyd decided there was no reason for him to wait too, so he headed home alone. About 3 miles east of here, he fell asleep at the wheel going about 70 mph! He crossed both lanes (thank God there were no cars coming) and woke up as he went off the bank on the other side of the highway. He wrestled the sliding truck and trailer, and got back onto the highway...without rolling over! He got home about 5:00 am, with just a sore and swollen wrist. We were tending Mandi's girls, as she had to work Saturday, and you know kids...they were up at 7 am! Needless to say, we were all dead tired Saturday, but very grateful that someone "up above" was looking out for Lloyd! How very blessed we are!
